MONTE and EUNICE MERRILL

 

Monte Merrill the oldest son of Osmond Marriner and Elthura Raymond was born in Idaho Falls on December 24, 1931. He grew up in Richmond, Utah where he graduated from North Cache High School and received the Citizenship Award for the Outstanding Graduate. He married Eunice Jane Tidwell, daughter of Frank and Eva Tidwell of Smithfield, Utah on May 16, 1951 in the Logan Temple. He received his B.S. degree from Utah State where he was Junior Class President, President of Pi Kappa Alpha Fraternity, a member of Alpha Sigma Nu Honorary Fraternity and Blue Key Fraternity. After serving four years in the USAF as a weather officer he returned to the University of Washington to attend their Dental School.

 

He graduated from there in 1961 and had the honor of being selected the Outstanding Graduate and also received the award for the student with the highest scholastic standing. He graduated from their School of Orthodontics in 1968. He was listed in Who's Who in America.

 

Monte served as bishop of the Seattle 8th Ward for five years and is currently a counselor in the Seattle North Stake presidency. He has served in other various church callings and as basketball and baseball coach on many church and community leagues.

 

His wife, Eunice, also graduated from North Cache and was the Citizenship Award recipient. She attended Utah State University where she was vice-president of the freshman class, a member of Kappa Delta Sorority and a member of the R.O.T.C. sponsor corps. She has served as ward and stake MIA president, ward relief society president and in various other church and community service.

Marianne Merrill

Marianne was born February 20, 1952 in Logan. She married Scott Brent Nash in the Logan Temple on July 25, 1973. Marianne graduated in the "Top Ten" at Ingraham High School in Seattle, Washington. She received her degree as a Registered Nurse from Brigham Young University. Scott is a dentist and is presently attending Orthodontic School in Seattle. They have two children — Nathaniel Ezra, born Septebmer 6, 1978, and Sarah, born November 4, 1981.

 

Kristine Merrill

Kristine was born May 18, 1953 in Logan. She married Michael Don Anderton in the Ogden Temple on December 21, 1973. Kristi was also in the "Top Ten" at Ingraham and is a Registered Nurse from Brigham Young University. Mike is a lawyer for an oil investment firm in Seattle. They have four children — Jon Michael, born December 21, 1974; Mark Robert, born February 5, 1976; Amy, born September 6, 1978; and Matthew Marriner, born June 27,1981.

 

Robert Monte Merrill

Robert was born July 13, 1961, in Logan. He was Senior Class President at Ingraham High School where he graduated Number One in his class. He was one of ten semi-finalists for the Spencer W. Kimball scholarship and did receive a 4-year full-tuition Trustees scholarship to BYU. He served for two years in the Spain Barcelona Mission. He is planning to enter dental school.

 

Richard Alan Merrill

Richard was born August 2, 1963 in Seattle. He, too, was Number One in scholastics at Ingraham. He received the 4-year full-tuition plus money Spencer W. Kimball scholarship at BYU and was also the recipient of a $1,000 National Merit Scholarship. He is currently serving a mission in the Colombia Bogota Mission. He plans to return to BYU to study chemical engineering.

 

Thomas Edwin Merrill

Thomas was born August I, 1972 in Seattle. He recently received the Arrow of Light Award in Cub Scouting. He participates in sports, plays the piano, and is planning to be an Eagle Scout, just like his older brothers. They all love to fish and enjoy the outdoors.
